Boyfriend Charges her test on his A/E CC, she's DI. Files a chargeback with A/E Because of there is no refund policy on polygraph test, he is not satisfied. AMERICAN EXPRESS is entrertaining this claim. Any suggestions? ------------------

What is the process? Do you have to contract with A/E in order to accept their cards? If so, what did you agree to up front? What do you mean by "entertaining the claim"? They have a duty to look into it, but in the end, it's a legit charge (correct?), so you'll likely get your money. Just make sure you do whatever you have to do, if anything, to satisfy any agreement you might have with Amex. IP: Logged |

I have some experience with AE. They do have to check out the claim by the card holder, however if you have no refund policy, then there is no refund and they will have to pay the charge. You must simply reply to AE and explain the situation. Best of Luck. IP: Logged |

remember you are being paid for your time, not the outcome. Your signed agreement with whoever is paying for the test should include words to that effect. I take cash or Postal Money orders or cashiers checks only. That way if they want a refund, they have to try and beat up my wife. I do make exceptions for long standing clients and governmental agencies.ebvan 3 days, 5 hours, 17 minutes and counting. IP: Logged |

I will bill long standing clients/programs. All others pay cash. I don't want the hassle of CC's or cancelled checks. EBVAN whats the countdown for? Taylor IP: Logged |

Taylor I'm pulling the pin, (on my Badge not a Grenade!(although sometimes..........)After 27 years it's time to start a new career, if for no other reason, than I need to pay some quarters into social security. The last time I did that I was making 4 bucks an hour working for Coca Cola lumping cases. (Remember that's what they used to call Coke) I have been shot at and missed a few times. Spit at and hit a few times. I always promised myself I would get out alive and that is what I plan to do Friday. As Frank Drebbin said, "Just think. The next time I shoot someone, I could get arrested." I have been a cop over half my life and it's time to balance that out. I figure another 10 years or so doing somthing else and I can retire for good and be a burden on my children. I'll miss the people I work with, but I won't miss having to try to walk through the remnants of man's inhumanity to man without slipping. Besides, I have this annoying neighbor who plays his stereo way too loud at 3 am. Every time I trudge across the street to tell him to turn it down, he never fails to mention how things would be different if I wasn't wearing a badge. I'm thinking he'll really be surprised when he finds out which one of us the badge has really been holding back. Dang, I'm starting to get maudlin, just like an old retired FART. I didn't intend to write a book here. Anyway I have negotiated a fair price on a new Limestone and have some Police Pre-Employment contracts in place for butter and egg money. I can begin running tests for defense attorneys and plan on doing some PCSOT work IF APA ever gets around to sending my results. That's what the countdown is all about EBVAN 3 days 0 hours 39 minutes and counting. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the sentiments guys. Taylor if you retired in 2004, you probably know exactly how I feel. I have been cycling 2 or 3 times a day between YAHOO!!!!!!!!! and OH CRAAAAAAAP! I'm starting to feel a bit Bi-PolarTo top everything off, The guy who was the district attorney when I ran the drug task force and the Chief of Police who hired me BOTH passed away this week. Both funerals are on Friday, the last official day of my police career. Besides all that, I have so much JUNK accumulated in my office at the P.D. that it is almost worth canceling my retirement so I dont have to clean it up. Where in the heck did this expended LAWs rocket come from? Fortunately I have so much bureaucratic red tape to wade through getting permits, licenses, bonds, etcetera ad infinitum, set up for my next career I just don't have time to run screaming into the night. I'll get through it though. ebvan 2 days 1 hour 25 minutes and counting IP: Logged |
